Prime Factor Math Circle and School of Programming

Thursday, March 21st, is the 2013 Math Kangaroo Contest Day!

Time and place: 6:30-8:00 PM, at Sherwood Forest Elementary (Bellevue).

Prime Factor Math Circle is inviting all students grades 1 and up to participate in Math Kangaroo Contest!

Math Kangaroo is an international competition in solving mathematical problems. With more than 50 countries and more than 5,000,000 students taking part in 2012, it is currently the most popular mathematical contest for children. Now, Math Kangaroo is finding its way into the United States!

The problems you will find in Math Kangaroo are appropriate for the students' grade. They require no special math skills beyond what's learned at school. But they are nothing like the run-of-the-mill problems the students normally tackle in class. They are creative and challenging. They require logical reasoning and out-of-the-box thinking.

To learn more about the competition, you can visit www.mathkangaroo.org

The participation fee is $20 per student. Each student receives a T-shirt, a certificate of participation, and a gift in addition to a competition booklet and a pencil on the test day.
The top 10 national winners and top state winners get extra prizes.

Test samples can be found at Kangaroo US page or at Kangaroo Canada page.
